PS5 port projects on GitHub
People searching for a PS5 port on GitHub usually mean one project: AnyPS5, which converts PS5 executables into native PC programs. Here is that repo, the community tools around it, and how the approach differs from emulation.
- The main PS5-to-PC porting repo is boykopovar/AnyPS5
- Related tools are grouped under the anyps5 topic on GitHub
- None of these repos contain games. They are tools you run on software you own
- A port here means a converted executable, not a remaster or an official PC release

Port versus emulator
A PS5 emulator loads a game and recreates the console around it while the game runs. A port in the AnyPS5 sense changes the game's executable once, ahead of time, into a native Linux or Windows program, and replaces the console's system libraries with PC versions.
This works because a PS5 and a typical gaming PC share the x86-64 CPU architecture. The hard parts are everything else: the system libraries, the graphics driver, shader translation to Vulkan, and services such as save data and trophies.
The two approaches share knowledge. AnyPS5 v0.1.1, for instance, ported its font implementation from the shadPS4 emulator project. PS5 emulator projects also exist on GitHub; Shattered.io counted SharpEmu at 3,818 stars on July 21, 2026.
What a PS5 port on GitHub is not
- Not a game download. The AnyPS5 README states the project does not include or distribute copyrighted software, firmware, keys or proprietary libraries.
- Not a finished product. One game is reported playable. Most titles stop on a missing function.
- Not an official Sony PC release. Sony's own PC versions of PlayStation games are sold through stores such as Steam and have nothing to do with these tools.
Staying safe on GitHub
Popular project names attract copies. Before downloading anything labelled AnyPS5 or "PS5 port":
- Confirm the repository owner. Upstream is
boykopovar. - Compare commit history and star counts with the upstream repo.
- Prefer release assets from upstream, or build from source yourself.
- Be wary of repos whose description is a list of search phrases with a single download link.

FAQ
Is there a PS5 port of a specific game on GitHub?
No game ports are published. GitHub hosts the tools; you run them on your own copy.
Can I port PS4 games with AnyPS5?
The project is described as a tool for PS5 executables. PS4 support has not been announced.
Which is further along, PS5 emulators or AnyPS5?
Both are early. AnyPS5 has one game reported playable. We have not verified current compatibility numbers for PS5 emulators.
Does AnyPS5 need a jailbroken PS5?
The tool itself only needs a decrypted ELF. Press coverage notes that obtaining one from your own console in practice means a modified PS5. The project does not document dumping.
